Updates coming!

I'm sure that since the announcements are making their way out, there is increased traffic here to check this little thing. Updates will be beginning very soon. Having a newborn in the house has not been keeping me from progress here. Having a toddler in the house while preparing to host all of the year-ending holidays has been another matter completely. Please check back. Her eyes are open and smiles are beginning to emerge. You don't want to miss this.

Happy Halloween!

When you're 3 weeks old, choosing what to be for Halloween presents limited difficulty. I think she did pretty well. And, true to form, she slept through the whole thing while I took Christopher around the neighborhood in his wagon.

Well, punkin butt has slowly started venturing out into the wide wide world. Still waiting for her to wake up though. Kind of reminds me of my college roommate, except she doesn't keep a blanket over her window.

Total sweetness. She's a little peanut for sure. Her first nickname has been "Squeaky" because that's the sound she makes instead of crying. I can live with that. (The bruise on her hand is from being stuck a couple of times before release from the hospital. The other hand has one too.)

This is her change of venue from the previous picture. I'm on the verge of taking a "Weekend at Bernie's" approach. I'll just put sunglasses on her and prop her up in different places around the house.

Well, she's a full week old now, and so far this is what she does all day every day. I hope she'll wake up long enough to open Christmas presents.

When siblings meet.

One of the greatest stresses we've faced in the last few months was "How will Christopher take to Reagan?". While that is a question that will be answered differently everyday for the next 80 years, we really could not have hoped for a better first encounter. Christopher was sitting on the bed with mommy and we brought her over. At some point he said that he needed to hold his baby Reagan so we put a boppy around him, helped him hold her and then he sang the "Alphabet Song" to her (totally precious)...and yes there is video of the moment. So, until he tries to lock her in his closet, they're off to a good start.

It's official!

Here she is, all 6 lbs. 8 oz. of her. 20" long, born at 8:42 pm on October 9. Mom did a phenomenal job. Truly impressive. Reinforced for me the notion that if men had to be the ones to give birth, the species would die off in one generation.

Since I think there are a handful out there who are already watching this site for anything, here's a little something to help you along till we start moving at warp speed.

This is a shot taken about a month ago (just got scanner software working properly) so it's at about 6 1/2 to 7 months along. Time is fleeting!
